Amarendra Nath Dey

Is presently working as a Professor of Department of Forestry, Faculty of Horticulture, Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Pundibari, Cooch Behar, West Bengal, India. He has vast experience of more than 20 years in teaching, research and extension activities and served the different posts in various capacities to the fullest satisfaction of the University. He has researched topics in Silviculture, Agroforestry, Forest seed science and Technology, Forest Biometry, Biodiversity Assessment, Carbon Stock and Carbon Sequestration and their effect on environment and soil health. He has published 65 research papers in National and International journals along with 20 book chapters in different books, proceedings, training manuals and practical manuals. Dr. Dey has guided 8 M.Sc. students and 3 Ph. D. students in the field of forestry. Besides this, he has actively co-guided 18 M.Sc. students and 2 Ph. D. students in the different disciplines. Dr. Dey successfully completed 3 projects successfully as the capacity of Principal
Investigator besides a number of projects as Co-Principal Investigator. Dr. Dey is now a member of Buxa Tiger Conservation Foundation Trust (BTCFT) and Ecosensitive
Zone -Buxa Tiger Reserve, Government of West Bengal, India.
He received best paper award for the year 2004 from Gourav Society of ARIC in Crop Research. Dr. Dey joined as Assistant professor in the Department of Forestry of Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Pundibari, West Bengal, India in the year 2002. He promoted to Associate Professor in the year 2014.
He obtained his M. Sc. Forestry degree with specialization in Silviculture after completion of graduation in B. Sc. Forestry with Honours and Gold Medalist from Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology, Buhabneswar, Odisha. He got his Ph.D. from H.N.B. Garhwal University, Uttarakhand.
