Dr. Laxman Kukanoor is a Dean in DSLD College of Horticultural Engineering and Food Technology, Devihosur, Haveri, a constituent college of University of Horticultural Sciences (UHS), Bagalkot.He received B.Sc. (Agriculture), M.Sc. in Horticulture (Postharvest Technology) and PhD in Horticulture (Postharvest Technology) from UAS, Dharwad, Karnataka. Since 1997, He worked as Executive (Horticulture), Maxworth Home Limited, Bangalore, Assistant Professor of PHT (1997-2006), Associate Professor of PHT (2006-2009), Professor & Head of PHT (2009-2019), Professor & Head of HEEU, RHREC Dharwad (2019-2023), University Head PHM (2021-23), ADRE Dharwad (2023-25) and Dean of DSLD CHEFT (April 2025 to till date), University of Horticultural Sciences, Bagalkot. Dr. Kukanoor authored more than 120 research articles, 66 popular articles, 4 books, 4 book chapter and 8 folders. He has been involved in different research projects funded by RKVY, Dept. of Horticulture and KSAMB, Bangalore as PI and Co-PI. He has developed 8 technologies on storage of onion and processed product preparation in bitter guard, west Indian cherry, pumpkin, gerbera, carrot, etc. He has guided 25 M.Sc. and 5 PhD students and served as advisory committee member to 64 students. During his professional career of 29 years, he has received several awards such as:UAS gold medal, S.V. Korikantimath Gold Medal, Shiksha Rattan Puaraskar and Dr. J. S. Pruthi Memorial Award for development of new products/new process/new machinery in the area of fruit & vegetable. He also awarded in many national and international conferences and seminars for presentation of papers as a best poster and oral presentation award.
