Lavanya M N, PhD., working as Assistant Professor in the department of Food Processing Technology, DSLD-College of Horticultural Engineering and Food Technology, University of Horticultural Sciences (UHS, Bagalkot), Devihosur, Haveri, Karnataka, India. She completed her B.Tech degree in Food Science and Technology from University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru, Karnataka; M.Tech. in Food Science and Technology and PhD in Food Process Engineering from NIFTEM-T, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. During her doctoral degree programme, she selected as CSIR direct SRF fellowship and received Innovation award from All India Food Processor Associations at Bangalore. She has involved in different institutional and externally funded research projects such as VGST and RKVY as PI and Co-PI. She has expertise in value addition of cereals, valorization of byproducts from food industry and encapsulation of bioactives, and pulmonary drug delivery system. Dr. Lavanya authored more than 10 scholarly articles, 5 book chapters, & popular articles in the field of food science and technology. She is having 350+ citations and 7 h-index. Currently she is focusing on development of meat analogues from underutilized crops, microgreen production, development of customized foods for diabetic, hypertension and other life style disorders.
