Md. Imtiyaz

Md. Imtiyaz is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Genetics and Plant Breeding at Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya (BCKV), West Bengal, where he is a University Research Scholar (URS Fellow). He earned his M.Sc. (Ag.) in Genetics and Plant Breeding from the Institute of Agricultural Science, University of Calcutta, and was honored with the Gold Medal for academic excellence. His core research expertise includes sesame and maize breeding, with specialization in the application of molecular techniques for crop improvement. He is actively involved in maize improvement programs and is currently contributing to research activities under the All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) on Maize at BCKV. He has authored a book chapter titled "Marker-Assisted Selection and Genetic Improvement of Industrial Crops" published by Springer, and several other book chapters and research articles currently in progress. His research and innovation efforts focus on advancing crop improvement strategies to benefit farmers and the scientific community, promoting resilient and sustainable agricultural systems.
