N. Veena, PhD, is working asAssociate Professor and Head of Food Safety and Quality Department,DSLD-College of Horticultural Engineering and Food Technology, University of Horticultural Sciences (UHS, Bagalkot), Devihosur, Haveri, Karnataka, India. She received her B.Tech. degree in Dairy Technology from KVAFSU, Bidar, Karnataka and her M.Tech. and PhD degrees in Dairy Chemistry from ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, Haryana, India. She has published over 70 research papers/ reviews/ book chapters/ technical articles in journals of national and international repute. She has published 7 edited books and 12 teaching manuals. She has involved in different institutional and externally funded research projects such as CSIR,ICAR, DST, Milkfed (Punjab) and RKVY as PI and Co-PI. She is the recipient of Young Women Researcher, Associate Fellow of National Academy of Dairy Science, India (NADSI), Project Incentive award and high NAAS rated paper published award at University level. She has presented her research work at various national and international seminars and conferences and received 6 oral and 5 poster presentation awards. Her area of expertise includes safety and quality aspects of food products, development and characterization of functional dairy foods and nanoencapsulation of nutraceuticals and their delivery.
