Dr. Satyam Kumar Kundu passed B.Sc. (Hons. in Zoology) from Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Centenary College, Rahara, 24–Parganas (North), West Bengal. He did his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degree in the subject of Marine Science from the Department of Marine Science, Calcutta University. Later he also completed 3yrs Post Graduate Diploma in Environment Management from the Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISW & BM), Kolkata.

Dr. Kundu has retired from the Faculty position of Department of Industrial Fish and Fisheries, Asutosh College, Kolkata. He has more than 25 years of teaching experience in the field of Fisheries Science.

Dr. Kundu has also served different reputed colleges of Kolkata like Presidency College, Behala College, BKC College, and IISW & BM as a Guest and Part–time  Lecturer.

Dr. Kundu has published one book entitled “Concept of Capture Fisheries of India” from Narendra Publishing House, Delhi (ISBN: 978-93-92851-57-5). He has published few scientific papers in national and international journals also.
