Sourav Roy

is engaged as an Assistant Professor in Department of Agriculture, Brainware University, Barasat, West Bengal, India. He has received his Doctoral Degree in Vegetable Science from BCKV. He has completed his B.Sc. Degree in Horticulture from Uttar Banga Krishi Viswaidyalaya, Pundibari, Cooch Behar, West Bengal, India in 2016 with 8.33 OGPA (10 Scale) and qualified ICAR-AIEEA-JRF examination with 87 rank.

He has obtained his M.Sc. Degree in Vegetable Science from BCKV in 2018 with 2nd highest OGPA (8.96) and qualified ASRB-NET examination in Vegetable Science with 74.68% in the year 2018. He is also awarded National Fellowship for Other Backward Classes from UGC, Govt. of India for pursuing his research work. His field of expertise is crop improvement including major vegetables like Okra, Tomato and High value vegetables like Sweet Pepper etc. He has published 2 book chapter and 5 research papers in different reputed national and international journal. He has participated in different national and international level conference. Apart from his academic and research activities he also served as extension worker.
